My name is Georgina Harvey, and I am currently studying BSc (Hons) in Psychology at the University of South Wales (USW). I have recently completed a Foundation Degree in Psychology at my local college in partnership with USW. I have previously worked as a childcare practitioner obtaining a CACHE level 3 diploma and 7 years of experience working within the early years sector.

In my spare time, I love to crochet, especially meaningful/personal gifts you cannot buy in stores. I cherish spending time with my husband and our two young children and often conduct fun educational activities for my children where they can learn through play. I am really good at baking and my family loves my famous chocolate cake. My biggest passion is learning. I am always learning new ways to challenge/improve myself whilst developing new skills.

I am a volunteer at the University of East London’s Baby Development Laboratory where I conduct gaze coding for Marta Amado’s research videos, which include mothers and their babies, focusing on attention. It is my role to observe the participants’ gaze for every frame of the video and input this data into MatLab. Marta then collects this data and analysis it against other gaze coders outcomes who work on the team, alongside the results collected from an EEG cap and heart monitor worn by the participants. I am thoroughly enjoying being a part of the team and am incredibly grateful for this fantastic opportunity.
